We're particularly proud of the fact that we're able to provide state of
the art technology. One of the developments that's made a huge difference
in what we can do with reproductive surgery is robotic surgery. Using a
robot you're able to do in a minimally invasive manner procedures that
would typically require a larger open incision. With the help of the robot
you can do precise movements with the ability to have better magnification
and better manipulation of the instruments almost as if you were holding
the instrument in your hand.
So it's possible to do complex work within the abdomen that ordinarily you
would need to do through a larger incision. As a result, because we can do
this through smaller incisions the patient is able to spend less time in
the hospital. She's able to recover much more quickly and get back to her
normal activities sooner.
