Family Building for Gay Men
The Benefits of Building Your Family with a Fertility Clinic
Choose an Option That Works for Your Family
In the past, hopeful gay parents were limited to adoption. Those who could not adopt were unable to have children at all. Thanks to modern options such as egg donation, surrogacy, and in vitro fertilization, hopeful gay parents have virtually unlimited options. If you are a single man, we can also help you realize your dreams of being a parent without involving a partner.Build a Biological Connection with Your Child
During the IVF process, the donated eggs are fertilized in a laboratory. Then, the healthiest embryos are placed back into the surrogate carrier's uterus. As the intended fathers, you or your partner can choose to use your own sperm during the IVF process. When you elect to use your own sperm, your child will share your genetic makeup.Choose Your Surrogate Carrier and Egg Donor
When you work with the team at Heartland Center for Reproduction, you are connected with a network of highly qualified egg donors and surrogates. We only select the healthiest, most qualified candidates for egg donation and surrogacy to help ensure that your child has a bright future ahead of them. If you prefer, you can also choose a friend or family member for egg donation or surrogacy. We Welcome LGBTQ Families

"The Staff Is on Your Side."
We can’t thank Dr. Elizabeth Constance and the staff at Heartland enough! We did IVF and are 29 weeks pregnant with a baby boy! The IVF process can be hard emotionally, physically and financially but they patiently answered all of our questions and made sure we were informed before every procedure.
View On GoogleThe nurses and doctors are wonderful to work with. Our IVF worked first try. We were lucky and had everyone there being hopeful without also having unrealistic expectations kept us hopeful and grounded. If you have to go here, you are already under quite a bit of stress. It's good to feel like the staff is on your side.

Our fertility center can arrange a custom family building plan that includes:
Gestational Carriers
Gay couples and gay individuals can grow their families with the help of a gestational surrogate. A gestational surrogate is a woman who will carry the embryo but has no genetic ties to the child. We can connect you with a surrogate, or you may choose to work with an outside agency. Many men choose a trusted friend or family member to carry the embryo. At Heartland Center for Reproduction, we thoroughly screen each carrier and provide the medical care she needs to achieve pregnancy.
Egg Donors
Before selecting a gestational carrier, you will need to select an egg donor. Many men choose a friend or family member as their donor, while others prefer an anonymous egg donation. Heartland Center for Reproduction can match you with a qualified donor or you can work with an outside agency. Our center can coordinate every step of the donor's care, from her initial screening to her egg retrieval.
IVF
Once you have selected your egg donor and gestational carrier, we can perform the IVF process. For every LGBT family that wants to build their family through fertility treatment, IVF is an essential part of the process. After retrieving the eggs from your selected donor, we will fertilize them in our state-of-the-art laboratory. Then, our fertility specialists will transfer the embryos back into the carrier's uterus.
What to Expect during the Process
Selecting a Surrogate
Some intended fathers select a friend or family member to carry their child. Others prefer to work with our center or an outside agency to connect with a highly qualified gestational carrier.Choosing an Egg Donor
If you have a friend or family member that you would like to be genetically involved, you can ask them to be your donor. Otherwise, our center can connect you with an anonymous donor.Egg Retrieval

Our Omaha fertility specialists believe that any person who wants children should be able to have them, regardless of their gender identity, sexual orientation, or budgetary constraints. We allow hopeful parents to finance their fertility treatments through trusted third-party lenders. "We Loved the Staff and Facility!"
We loved the staff and facility! We are pregnant on our first IVF cycle after a fresh transfer. Unfortunately, we only had one embryo make it to day 5. We will be doing our second round with them as well!
